High-speed Wi-Fi, free prosecco and afternoon tea; OpenTable’s stress-free haven set to make it a Black Fri-yay!

‘Most relaxing’ Black Friday experience tackles ‘shop till you drop’ burnout

  • OpenTable is taking over renowned British restaurant Scoff & Banter Tea Rooms on November 24th to create the perfect oasis for shoppers
  • Shoppers who book a table for two via OpenTable will be treated to a complimentary bottle of prosecco as they relax and enjoy their signature afternoon tea whilst browsing online deals using specially provided iPads

London, 23 November 2017… This year OpenTable, the world’s leading restaurant booking platform, is taking the stress out of November 24th with the UK’s most relaxing Black Friday experience.

Shoppers who feel overwhelmed by the chaos of the high street are invited to escape the crowds by visiting OpenTable’s Black Friday shopping pop-up at Scoff & Banter Tea Rooms. Located just minutes from Oxford Circus, every dining table will have a designated iPad installed for shoppers to browse at their leisure and take full advantage of the Black Friday deals.

The relaxing experience means shoppers can take advantage of high speed Wi-Fi alongside Scoff and Banter’s signature high tea, as well as a selection from the Afternoon Tea menu to nibble on whilst filling their shopping basket with bargains.

As if that wasn’t enough, Scoff and Banter Team Rooms will be giving away a bottle of prosecco to anyone that books afternoon tea for two through OpenTable. To access this one off pop-up, shoppers simply need to visit the OpenTable site and book a slot between 1 and 4pm.

Originating in the US in the 1950s, Black Friday has become something of a sensation in the UK over the past few years, with British shoppers spending an estimated £1.96 billion on this day in 2016. Bricks-and-mortar stores and online market places alike are awash with deals, but the competitive nature of bargain-hunting often equates to stress for Britain’s shoppers.

Adrian Valeriano, OpenTable’s VP EMEA, comments, “Black Friday is a hugely stressful day marking the beginning of the Christmas shopping season. With this in mind, we wanted to create an experience that would restore a little calm to the day, whilst still supporting thrifty consumers in their search for Black Friday deals. We’re very pleased to be partnering with Scoff & Banter Team Rooms who we know are well-versed in providing just the sort of relaxing experience our customers know and love.”

To book the OpenTable Black Friday experience, visit: https://www.opentable.co.uk/r/scoff-and-banter-tea-rooms-oxford-street-london and book a slot between 1 and 4pm on Friday November 24th

Afternoon tea at Scoff & Banter Tea Rooms is priced from £34, only available for pre-booking.
